I am guided each day by these three questions: ‘What are you fixing?’ ‘What are you making?’ and ‘Who are you helping?' – Juliana Rotich

The three core values that are both the foundation of the initiatives and that enable alignment between the initiatives are:

Connect. Collaborate. Co-Create

Connect

Collaborate

Co-Create

These four initiatives are the pillars of LIA operations, the ways in which we envision working towards our shared mission.

HerStory

In commitment of our mission to amplify women’s’ voices and experiences, a key LIA initiative is creating and sharing the history of the Lean and Agile community, viewed from a female or specifically feminist perspective. HerStory is about co-creating new narratives to reorient women’s efforts throughout our community history both in the recent past and the crowded present so that other women can gain inspiration and knowledge for their own journeys.

LIA NextGen

Extending the runway for the forthcoming generations of women as they pursue their full potential amidst ever increasing rate of change and chaos is the vision for LIA NextGen. From our pilot spiral for high-school girls in Northern Virginia, to our initial offering of leveraging agility for graduating college seniors via a collaboration with Queens College, and our range of workshops for girls, teens and young women, we’re committed to paying it forward.

LIA100

Our signature initiative to identify and celebrate the women making significant contributions in Lean and Agile spaces across the globe. Our vision is to recognize the value these amazing women create for our community. Understanding the women behind the names, the challenges and opportunities that shaped them will enable us to recognize the parallels within ourselves.

LIA Library

Our vision for the LIA Library is to serve as clearinghouse for sources and stories on the value of gender diversity. Our intentions include identifying barriers for gender diversity based on expert opinions as well as crowd-sourced experience reports, developing a inclusive leadership template for the 21st century as well as sharing best practices for D&I initiatives and outcomes across industries and cultures, all to address the challenges in shaping a more representative world.
